Digest
Digest: An Interdisciplinary Study of Food and Foodways was re-launched in September 2012 as an online journal. Devoted to publishing work that explores aspects of food, culture and identity, the journal includes peer-reviewed articles, as well as non-reviewed ethnographic research reports, creative pieces, recipes, archival materials and book reviews, related to foodways and culture. For more information on Digest, please contact co-editors Diane Tye of Memorial University or Michael Lange of Champlain College. Submissions should be sent to Diane Tye. The Sue Samuelson Award for Foodways Scholarship The Foodways Section of the American Folklore Society is pleased to announce the Sue Samuelson Award for the best student paper on food and foodways. Papers should be based on original fieldwork or research and should utilize current folkloric approaches to interpretation. The contest is open to undergraduate and graduate students. There is no entrance fee. The contest prize for first place is $200, publication in the Section's journal Digest, and free membership to the Foodways Section of AFS. The winner will also receive a $200 travel stipend to attend the annual meeting of the American Folklore Society. How to submit:
