There is still time to apply for the Native Arts and Cultures Foundation’s (NACF) 2017 National Artist Fellowship! This Fellowship awards up to $20,000 to Native artists who are making a significant impact in their discipline in one of the following categories: Traditional Arts, Music, Visual Arts, Artistic Innovation, or Literature.

This opportunity is open to accomplished individual practicing Native artists. Native artists may apply for support as they explore, develop and experiment with original or existing projects. Awarded National Artist Fellows also work with their communities and share their culture in numerous ways.

Visit the NACF website to read about the 2016 National Artist Fellows.

Eligible applicants will be Native artists who both reside in the U.S. and are enrolled citizens of a U.S. federally or state recognized American Indian Nation, Alaska Native Corporation or with other documentation of Native Hawaiian ancestry.

A panel of Native arts peers and professionals will review the applications and make recommendations for approval to NACF’s Board of Directors.

To apply, visit the Native Arts and Cultures Foundation website for more information. Submissions will be accepted until Monday, September 25, at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

The Native Arts and Cultures Foundation promotes the revitalization, appreciation and perpetuation of American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian arts and cultures.
