The Folklife Program of the Nevada Arts Council seeks to hire a professional folklorist or cultural anthropologist to conduct a folklife field survey and to document traditions in Elko County, Nevada, with an emphasis on the emerging traditions of various emigrant, ethnic, and occupational groups and on the members of the Paiute and Shoshone tribes located within Elko County.

Work for this project may begin after contract approval and must be completed by June 30, 2018 (including all paperwork). Fieldwork days need not be consecutive, although the size and location of Elko County are not conducive to multiple short immersions.
