Jewish Folklore and Ethnology Section of the American Folklore Society is
devoted to studies of Jewish folklore, folklife, and ethnology. Section membership includes a subscription to Jewish Cultural Studies, a book series published for
the AFS by the Littman Library of
and edited by Simon J. Bronner.
section meets annually at American Folklore Society (AFS) conferences. It also
sponsors panels, forums, and special events at the conferences. The
Section also sponsors the Raphael Patai Prize in Jewish Folklore and Ethnology
through an endowed fund to honor the best unpublished essay in Jewish folklore
and ethnology by a student.
